Memorials

Memorializing loved ones that have passed away is one way we cope with that loss and celebrate their lives.  I am glad to offer this service, but please know that I take no pleasure benefiting from the grief of others. I am honored, however, when asked to build something special to lift up the memory of someones loved one, especially for our service men and women. If you wish to memorialize someone you love in someway, I can help you.

Where urns and mini keepsake urns are concerned, sometimes it is necessary to have one ready for use in a short time frame which may limit the options to produce a custom one on short notice.  For this reason, I invite you to check out the urn gallery below. "Buy Now" items are in stock and available for immediate purchase and ship immediately.  However, if you have the luxury of waiting and are able to temporarily store your loved ones cremains in another vessel, allowing time for a custom urn and/or mini keepsake urns to be made, I can help facilitate that. Keep watch for more designs and/or variations of those below or feel free to contact me if you would like to be notified when I have some available

Memorial Flag Case This flag case was built to display the flag that was draped over the casket of a deceased veteran by the US Military and given to the family to honor his service. It’s made from red oak finished with a rich brown stain. A custom cut piece of glass secures the flag inside from dust and exposure. A customized brass plaque was affixed to the front sharing a few details about his life and service. It was an honor to build.

Helmet Display Case This helmet belonged to a vet who was an army training officer while serving in the Korean War. His family wanted to keep the helmet and memorialize him in some way. I designed this glass case made from red oak to put it on display. It was an honor to build.

Urn - Double Sized An elderly couple had passed away a year apart from each other. They opted for cremation but wanted their ashes mixed together. The family asked me to build this double sized urn for their ashes. It is made from red oak. The edges of boards making up the sides were beveled to accentuate the joints giving it a plank like appearance. I hand carved the face of those boards except for the edges to texture the surface. Any loss is saddening, but this couple lived full lives together and this is truly a beautiful love story. I was proud to have a small part in celebrating their lifelong marriage.
